What Makes a Good Villain Name?

The most memorable villain names share qualities that make them stick in a reader's or player's mind long after the story ends.

• Hard phonetics. Consonants like K, X, Z, and V — and fricatives like Sh, Kr, Thr — create a sense of danger. Soft names can work for elegant villains but typically need a darker title to balance them.
